engraving - Longfellow

I have a framed engaving of Longfellow - On the back is: Frederick Keppel & Co. Rare Engravings and Etchings
No. G 1955 Henry W Longfellow Engraved from life by Charles Burt
Front is longfellow and under is copy secured 1883.
Any help appreciated!

Hi,

I believe the engraver was the Charles Burt who also was chosen to engrave Martha Washington Portrait on the back of the 1896 dollar and also Lincoln 1923 Silver Certificate. I have a engraving of Sir Walter Raleigh saying goodbye to his wife....I believe when imprisoned in the Tower of London which is dated 1842. Did you find out much information on your etching. I also believe that Burt was part of Burland Lithographic Co. and lived 1823 -1892.

Any resources or information you can give me would be helpful. I am not an expert so this is just some potentially useful information if it is correct.

I just purchased a book "The Courtship of Miles Standish by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and am trying to find out some more information on it. It is published by New York Hurst & Company with a cover of brown soft leather with Fall maple leaves on it. It is in excellent condition. Has anyone ever seen one of these before? There is no publication date inside. Thank you.
